I believe this is something Superuser did. From what I've read today, some servers were seeing 300 separate processes running from one mt-comments.cgi.
I grabbed a bootleg copy of mt-2.63 from some website, pulled out mt-comments, renamed it to something clever and relatively unguessable, then changed mt.cfg to look for this new file.
Hopefully this will a)Work (this is the first test). b)deter some bots from spamming us. With fingers crossed, I hit 'Post'
So, that worked. Make sure and rebuild your blogs before trying comments.
